Helmuth
Rier was born and grew up in the village of Kastelruth,
South Tyrol. He was originally drawn to filming and
television
and has worked as a cameraman on all continents.
He began specialising in photography at the end of the
1970s and
has been working as a freelance photographer
in South Tyrol
for over 15 years. Helmuth Rier has the eye of a true
cameraman,
whether working in his studio using a large format camera
with
lighting/flash equipment, or using medium format and
panorama cameras in the Great Outdoors.
Dynamism requires his visual language, his credo require
flexibility in the choice of subject matter and materials.
